The Votes and Proceedings are the official record of all that is done in the Legislative Assembly, or in effect the minutes of the Assembly. They should not be confused with Hansard which is the report of what is said in the debates in the Assembly.
A proof version is created after each sitting day. The final version is published later consisting of the Votes and Proceedings for the entire week and it replaces the daily proofs.
Minutes of joint sittings are also published here. Joint sittings are meetings of both the Assembly and Council. They are held to fill vacancies in the Legislative Council and the Senate, to elect member to the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (Vic Health) and the Board of the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation and to consider a disputed bill under s 65G of the Constitution Act 1975.
To see the Votes from previous parliaments visit Votes and Proceedings - Historical. Or search the House documents database - use the 'previous sessions' option to search back to 1996.
